Born in Lima, Peru. Eduardo Menendez - aka NATIVO, is a New York based artist/designer who works with projects that fuse motion, interaction and design. Trained originally as a painter and musician, his aspirations for knowledge have always led him pursue other related disciplines. In 2001, Eduardo quit painting and began working on audio/visual projects, which included not only video works but also interactive design. He later formed Santos Media, a creative collective that produced and designed music, visuals and events. To further challenge himself, he decided to undertake Master of Fine Art in Design & Technology at Parsons school of Design in New York City. At Parsons, Eduardo studied a wide-range of skills from motion graphics to programming, sharing and acquiring knowledge from professors and students from all over the world. His final thesis project titled Ego Wall, explored the concept of the signature by creating an interactive environment that displays audio/visual traces of people. This project showcased his combination of skills and experience. Having received his MFA degree, Eduardo is currently in New York City working as a Web Assistant for the Online Media Department at the New School, and is planning on new adventures and working on everything that will bring him closer to further knowledge and skills.
